Indoctrination is a term we usually associate with pedophiles trying to manipulate and abuse children. But here lately, I’m seeing more and more videos of young men and women spouting propaganda about women’s rights that makes my skin crawl. These uneducated individuals are being led down a destructive path that will destroy the very essence of what our country is supposed to be about, not to mention any chance that they will ever have a successful relationship. Everyone, men and women, has the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of their happiness.
Why would any woman want to give up her right to vote? That is your only voice, your only tool of power to have a say in how our government functions. So many women sacrificed their well-being to fight for that right for anyone to just throw it away carelessly. If you decide not to vote, that is your choice and you have the right to do that, but you don’t have the right to take away another woman’s right to vote. And for any young man to be taught that women are too stupid to decide how our country should be run is even more infuriating. It’s no wonder women are choosing to opt out of relationships when the new generation of men are being taught that women should be silent and subservient.
There’s no such thing as “the good old days”. Women had no rights at all in those “good old days”. They were property, slaves to the whims of men. Women couldn’t own a home or make decisions for themselves. They weren’t “allowed” to pursue their dreams or seek opportunities that would enrich their lives. The very idea that any young woman has the mindset that she’s incapable of making her own choices is sad. What’s even sadder are the women who are being coerced into thinking the only way they can have a relationship is to forfeit their independence. It’s pitiful and ultimately doomed to failure.
And then there’s the issue of body autonomy. Watching the individuals currently in charge of our government systematically strip women of their right to decide about their own body is exasperating, to say the least. Pro-life shouldn’t mean stealing any woman’s right to choose what is best for her body or her life. A fetus isn’t a child. Giving birth shouldn’t be a punishment. A child raped shouldn’t have to go through a pregnancy and birth and be traumatized for life. A woman who’s pregnancy endangers her life, shouldn’t be put in the position of possibly dying…just to give birth. What is wrong with people to think pregnancy trumps all other rights? You certainly aren’t there after the fact. You don’t help that woman with the expense of raising a child. You don’t help her grieving family if she dies because of a pregnancy. Idealism is one thing. Robbing anyone of the right to choose is another. So get off your high-horse and mind your own damned business.
I have news for those who think they can get away with stealing the rights of women…you may win temporarily but in the long run, you will be defeated. Women are strong and intelligent and will fight back. We’re already walking away from relationships because of abusive, controlling behavior. Keep trying to steal our rights and watch what happens next.
